Glad to hear that I am not alone in failing to turn the vent on. One
advantage of learning how to use my Potter during the winter in CT was that
no one was around to see my bumbling. I am getting pretty good at it now. I
not only remember to turn the vent on, but I turn the little gas open-close
lever so that the engine gets gas. It also starts much better if the little
safety kill-switch knob is held open by the little plastic piece.
