It appears to me that a few minor modifications such as a bowsprit (quite
functional for flying a gennaker) and measuring with the motor attached
should satisfy the PHRF 20 foot LOA rule. At PHRF 320 the P19 might be
unbeatable in flat water and light air. In my last race, (winds less than 4
knots at the start) I was able to get out in front by 700-800 yards before
the wind picked up, eventually to lose to an Erickson 30, and fie on me, a
MacGregor 26 (whom I believe is in league with the devil, since he went
opposite to every one else in the fleet and made amazing gains each time we
crossed. Sadly, from prior research, I suspect that 300 -305 is a more
likely rating
