I recently read an article printed in the late '70's (in one of my British
Seagull manuals) that told how the British used small boats with Seagull engines
to send in special troops to the French coast during World II. The boats and
engines were intentionally sunk upon arrival just off the coast in 30 - 40 feet
of salt water. The article told how the French were finding these engines and
cleaning them up and using them 40 years later. They still ran fine after some
minor maintenance with the original parts. I'm not sure how well any of the
modern engines would fare in comparison.

Before it starts... I'm not interested in any arguments. I like my Seagull! I
just don't use it much.
