Jim:

Three or four years ago, my daughter and I camped at the Devil's Lake
campground on a trip back from Washington. I was also impressed at the
beauty of the little lake and vowed to go back with my Potter.

Another place on the Oregon coast I want to return to is Wheeler, about the
same latitude as Portland. You're probably familiar with the pretty bay
there. My wife, Sandy, and I stayed at a small motel, which had a dock for
guests, but again, we didn't have the boat. There is a launch ramp nearby.
The motel only has about four rooms, each with a different motif. It was
Sandy's birthday and we stayed in the Honeymoon room, the one nearest the
water. The decoration was corny but charming, and the room had a big
Jacuzzi.

There were other bays along the Oregon coast that I would have liked to
explore in the Potter, and I hope to take the boat up that way this August
or September (the sunny season?).

Thanks for your story and the reminder about overhead hazards when
launching. Is _Second Wind_ a P15?
