All - Have returned safely from Catalina trip and will start to compose a
report once I compose my life. Just a few quick notes regarding messages
posted in my absence.

1. I mounted my large (20") extinguisher on the stbd side of the cabin
ladder. A second (smaller 12") is mounted aft of the basket next to the
stove. It has a velcro mounting.

2. I use the rubbermaid tubs and 5 gallon collapsables and they work fine.
I have been keeping a spare under the V- birth. My dream is to install
a built-in ice chest and holding tank for both the sink and water out of
the ice chest that I could pump out. Has anyone done something like this?

3. When I enquired to a local loft about asym. spinnakers I was told it
would have to be jibed, had an adjustable tack, and could be used with a
pole. Was told I could use the existing jib halyard. I have not purchased
this sail yet, and I am now concerned as to whether a fractional rig for
this is the right thing. Does anyone have an asym. spinnaker that they
run with the existing jib sheet?

4. Mast raising - I usually have help raising the mast and just lift it
from the companionway bulkhead. The person on the forestay provides
tension while I lift. I have done this alone using the jig-down haul
attached to the forestay. Taking the mast down I start on the cabin top,
then step down onto the companionway bulkhead and lower the mast into the
crutch. Larry Costa had a very slick way of lowering his mast using the
jib down-haul.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! - Eric
