When I had IM replace my structurally defective P-15, I had them put on a
retractable motor mount. It is the Seadog/Fulton mount for less than 9.9 HP
engines. It is able to adjust to several positions, so I can avoid the
problem you described with my short shaft Nissan 3.5. If you don't have
access to the inside of your transom, you may have to also put in a
inspection port to have access to the nuts.
Do you have the centrifugal clutch twist grip Honda 2 HP? I have been
meaning to get one of those. How quiet is it really?
