Greetings:
If you want the jib boom to be self tacking, rig it so that a single sheet
runs from the aft end of the boom, down through a block forward of the mast
on centerline, and thence to the cockpit as convenient. If you do it this
way, tacking becomes a matter of pulling the tiller to leeward and making
sure everyone ducks. If the jib was correctly trimmed on one tack, it
should be pretty close on the opposite tack.
