I've noticed that the compasses have an offset adjustment. Depending on your
location and magnetic deviation you can adjust the compass from reading
magnetic north (uncompensated) to reading true north (compensated). This
adjustment is easily done in the cockpit with a small tool. I'd like to
adjust my wind vane so that it reads true wind rather than apparent wind.
What is unfortunate about this adjustment is that I have to keep hauling my
wife to the top of the mast to make these adjustments. With the boat heeling
and the wind blowing, my wife is usually not in the best mental state to
make such an adjustment - especially an accurate one. Is there any way to do
this adjustment with the mast stepped on the trailer?
