Thanks Geoff for your response about knockdowns and the p-15. I have
absolute confidence in my 15 in high wind (for us on Fern Ridge REservoir,
high wind is 20-30mph). I find myself going out when the bigger boats
won't. The hull shape on the potter makes it extremely stable. FRom what
I've learned from this website and in my experiences sailing, you really
do have to do a few things to get knocked down: leave the CB up, cleat the
mainsheet (my boat no longer has a cleat), or sail up against a lee shore
or jetty and ground on something. Otherwise you won't turtle.

I agree about the fear thing...new sailors, fear not! Your 15 is fine! If
you want more room, get a 19. But the 15 is a stout vessel!!!

PS We just went sailing on Puget Sound with Michele from Whidbey on her
15...It handled PERFECTLY.
