I do plan to call IM before buying anything, but their list price for the
bimini is pretty high compared to what I can get from the catalog places.
Granted that one from IM will be a perfect fit, but I have to consider if
the perfect fit is worth an extra $150.

I've called the Boat/US special order number - they can't get opening ports
in the size I need. I'll ask IM about this too when I call. It would
certainly be nice if their v-berth opening and fixed ports had the same
dimensions.

As far as the bug repellant goes... we generally didn't need it. Just the
one time about a mile offshore when there was no breeze and we motored into
a cloud of big gnats. Almost mosquito sized, they were. They didn't bite,
though, they just wanted somewhere to sit. We were already covered in a
too-greasy sunscreen and didn't even think about using bug spray.

It really sucked when I dropped the main and the thousand or so gnats that
had been clinging to it were forced to find new perches.
