Although my wife and I are, by any estimation, novices, we are interested
in your upcoming Tahoe adventure. Could you e-mail me particulars?

Jay--

You needn't be concerned with being a novice at the Lake Tahoe sail.
Although the Lake can sometimes be a little windy and choppy, we are leaving
from a protected marina and you will have the advantage of 100's of years of
compiled experiance sailing a Potter amongst the people who will be here.
There are a few individuals who claim 100's of years of experiance
individually!

Following is a reprint of the original announcement for all. Please be
certain to RSVP your intentions to attend if you so plan:

We'll be meeting on the south shore of Lake Tahoe at Tahoe Keys Marina on
August 13. That's a Friday. The early arrivers can begin rigging,
getting their boat's in the water and sharing stories. We will enjoy a group
dinner at The Fresh Ketch, the marina's restaurant Friday night.
We'll continue rigging and launching on Saturday morning as those folks arrive
that are unable to make it Friday afternoon. We will leave en masse for
Emerald Bay at midmorning. Saturday night will be spent at Emerald Bay where
you will find one of the most stunning alpine bays you've ever seen. There is
camping, hiking and plenty of exploring available. At all locations will be
"facilities." At Emerald Bay there are camp tables, water and toilets.
During the day you can run your boat right up on the beach. At night they
request that you not be tied up on the beach, so you might want to join the
group in rafting up together or anchoring just offshore (just a couple of feet
is all they ask, so people wandering down the shore in the dark--God knows why
they'd be doing that--won't trip on your mooring lines).
The following morning is Sunday and perhaps we can get Harry Gordon and Larry
Costa to lead us in a sacrifice to the Gods of pleasant mountain breezes, good
times and pleasant sailing. Probably Sunday folks will head out at various
times as some folks who come some distance want to head out early to get on
the road early for their journey back home. Other's will probably want to
take their time.
If you wish to arrive earlier or stay later, just let me know and I'll be
happy to help you with travel planning. You can enjoy additional sailing,
there's plenty of it, some of the local gambling and shows or may choose to
try out some other parts of Lake Tahoe. If you've never been to Lake Tahoe,
the lake is huge. The lake is 72 miles in circumference. It is 11 miles
across the narrowest part and 22 miles over the water from the north shore to
the south. All of it stunning mountain vistas.

Again, the dates are August 13, 14 and 15.
