My suggestion is to deploy the anchor from the stern. I realize the
bow-mounted anchor looks ship-shape and all, but a stern-mounted anchor has
several advantages: 1. You don't have to go forward to deploy or retrieve.
2. You can easily control the motor when you need to back off to retrieve.
3. Anchoring from the stern directs the wind through the cockpit, increasing
ventilation when you sleep in the boat. There are times when anchoring from
the stern is not practical such as rough water.
