Hey guys,

I got a problem.

I've got a '98 Nissan 3.5. Last year I noticed a small oily spot on the
garage floor about the size of a 50 cent piece. This year it was worse. I
just started using 50:1 fuel mixture instead of the 25:1 break in stuff.
The puddle is bigger and the gas fumes are even getting into the house. I
took the cover off and have found where it is coming from. One of the seams
in the plastic tank is seeping very, very slowly. I suppose pressure
build-up "blew it out" (I should have know better, I had it happen with
external tanks before). The leak is so slow it takes a long time for even a
drop to form, but over a period of time those drops add up.

My question: Is there some kind of sealant that would adhere to plastic and
would be impervious to gasoline? Obviously there's no pressure on it (as
long as I keep the vent open), so the weight of the gas is all it has to
hold in.

Any advise on product and application would be appreciated.
(What about automotive "Permatex" type products?)
