Hi Rob et al,

Yup, that link you provided has a picture of what I was trying to describe. There are many variation of how to run the mainsheet, but the basic concept of the "transom" bridle is what I was describing. I don't know if the terminology is correct, but when I was a kid, we used to call the bridle a "traveller" line.

There are several ways to run the main sheet to a cleat; that picture shows one of them. You can also run the sheet back down to a mount on the transom, so it's always in the same place rather than moving from side to side with every tack.

Sounds like the arrangement described on the potter site as
"Mainsheet cleat
moved to transom bridle." I was wondering if it would work
out on the P-19.
