Hi All:

Any way you cut it, with end boom sheeting, you will have a ton of line. Why
not just replace the port block with a Harken 205 swivel/camcleat <you can
'invert' the base-but don't lose all the bearings- so it will only swivel 90
degrees instead of 270> and block with becket. That way you can eliminate
the extra hardware. This is what we've done with our P-19 <#779 'Wind
Shadow'> and it works fine. The traveller doesn't really save you that much
line with a 3 or 4:1 purchase and line is a lot cheaper than track, brackets,
cleats and cars as well as the inconvenience of having to climb over the
silly thing on the top of the transom when boarding. A short traveller in
the center like on a Catalina doesn't buy you any performance either as
there's not enough movement for windward sheeting...
