Hello Judy,
My wife and I enjoyed your web site, we have been wanting to do some of
the things that you have but I must admit that I'm a little apprehensive of
drilling into Corky. We bought her sight unseen form IM in August of 1996.
Two holes to the port side of the companion way for the GPS bracket is the
extent of my invasive modifications. On my old 16' Chrysler Mutineer I
don't suffer from this dilemma.
Could you give a short description of what I will encounter in the
instillation of this step. I assume that it will be mounted at the filet
under the original mast step and that I will need to drill it to line up
with the original step, I'm not sure how the original is attached because of
the carpet and post. Also if you can describe the turning blocks, fair lead
assembly that you used to rout the lines aft, from your pictures it looks
like you belay the lines to horn cleats.
I know how silly I am about this modification stuff, hopefully once
I can get started I'll be able to install the tiller tamer, backstay
hardware and assorted other junk sitting in a box under my bookshelf of
boatbuilding, design and how to books.
