Just a word of caution about a PVC deck pipe. This material breaks down
under exposure to sunlight. For a while PVC pipe was allowed for
staking claims in Nevada. After about 5 years they started to
disintegrate. This is under constant exposure at relatively high
altitude (3000-4000 ft) with corresponding high UV radiation. There are
other plastics about that offer somewhat better UV resistance, but they
tend to be uglier colors. But heck, those of you at sea level I am told
never see the sun, so PVC will probably last forever down there.
