FellowPotterers:

Would appreciate any recommendations/advice/info on suitable
additional
flotation to be added to the after-section of the quarterberths.

I have received excellent engineering info from Mac/Enigma/ECPA, but
am
looking for empirical assist on How/What/Where available, hopefully from
someone who has done it.

Since we do not use the Q-berths for sleeping, just stowage(I built a
`thwartship bunk for the 'Skipper) I am looking toward removable foam
blocks(homemade, about 150# +/- buoyancy each) to be coupled together via a
line between the cockpit well and inner transom. Idon`t want to
foam-in-place,
but am thinking along the lines of filling a
pre-built form(plastic laundry basket,etc..?).

I used laminating fiberglass and glued a couple of 6" wide strips of
fiberglass mat on top of each other from center section of aft seat to hull
sides. Then I placed a piece of 2" white (round bubble) foam about 14" x 24"
on top. I placed anther piece of foam but only 3 wide on top fwd of previous
foam piece and kept putting pieces (building a wall until it reached close to
underside of seat. The first and largest piece is about 6" from rear berth
access hatch to storage. I then filled in with urethane insulation foam all
the way until it jammed against seat underside. This reinforces hull for
trailering and adds about 400 lbs extra flotation while keeping things in
cabinets from rolling to aft end of rear storage hatch. I installed a 1"
piece of PVC pipe wedged against floor side of cabin to allow wires and water
to flow through.

I also wedged a piece of white foam under Potty location and filled in with
urethane foam to keep in place. There are two pieces of 1" pile close to
floor sides here one on top of other to allow wires and water to flow through.
