I noticed the thread about sail slugs.
I put sail slugs on my P-15 about 3 weeks ago. I did it after
calling a local sailmaker and discussing it. He recommended 24"
intervals and was willing to install them for $5 per slug (parts and
labor included.) He recommended placing grommets to keep the sail from
tearing. I went out and bought a grommet kit and the slug parts at
West Marine and did it myself. Took me one evening, and I would never
want to go back to the way it was. Now I can douse/raise the main sail
in seconds by myself from the cockpit. (I also sprayed the track with
lubricant which makes the slugs run like lightning (pun intended)).
