Bill and all - I mounted my antenna on the starboard side of the the mast
using and L bracket supplied with the antenna (Shakespear 3db sailboat).
I mounted it so the antenna body is protected by the very top of the mast
(I have been known to hit the house when backing up the driveway). We
have to remember to install/uninstall the whip each time we sail. I
drilled a hole just below the L bracket and ran the antenna down the inside
of the mast. I need to take it apart and put wire ties on it to keep it
from making noise in there all night long. Wish I had done it the first
time.

P.S. Went out on the bay yesterday afternoon. 15-20 gusts to 25. 3 ft
wind chop. No gasket on centerboard and it leaked plenty. Carpet on rear
of ceterboard made no significant difference. Lost a wheel bearing two
blocks from my house - what luck. Bearing buddy was gone. Took it apart
this morning and found inner race completely destroyed. Hope to get it
fixed today so we can make Monterey. - Eric
