Hey Derek, if you will send me your snail mail address I will send you a
pattern for a plate I made from aluminum (Home Depot) that keeps the batten
keeper in line with the sail and wont let it push forward as much as it does
with slugs and without the plate. Easy to do. Re your mention of a bolt to
hold the batten,did you see the one idea of using a piece of light shock
cord and a round notch in the end of the long batten to enable releasing the
tension on the long batten by pushing the shock cord off the end of the
batten instead of using a cord and having to untie the cord. Owen Shaw
