2 nights ago I finally hoisted the 200% genoa I bought from IM. WOW!!!
It's so great! The boat just hauls along!!! On Fern Ridge the wind never
gets above 20mph between april and october (when there's water in the
reservoir, thanks to the corps of engineers). Both nights the wind wasn't
excessive, probably no more than 12 mph. It was wonderful!!! I haven't put
the genoa blocks and tracks on yet, haven't gone sailing with any of my
buddies who are in the dextrous category and didn't want to drop them in
and lose them and it does take two to install them. But I am able to rig
the sheets by passing them around the vertical parts of the railing and
then back throught the eyes and cleats....not the smoothest deal but
definitely workable. I CAN'T BELIEVE I SAILED THE BOAT ALL THIS TIME
WITHOUT THE GENOA!!! It makes such a difference! And Glenn gave me a great
deal: He only charged me for the sail ( 240 bucks), threw in the blocks,
tracks, sheets,downhaul and shipping! Check it out!
