Thanks to the folks who replied to my earlier question about where to put the thru-hull shore to ship plug. Several people suggested on the "doghouse" vertical wall, just forward of the window. Sounds very practical to me.

Folks also suggested a 110v plug on the compression post for a fan (can I get one that's not too huge?) and another on the port or starboard cabinet.

I have another couple of questions for the group:
Where do folks have those "cigarette lighter" 12v recepticles? I'm thinking that four inside the cabin for two cell phones (Dave and I each must carry ours), one handheld GPS at night with the anchor alarm set, and one spare will be plenty inside the cabin. We'll also want one outside somewhere in the cockpit, for the GPS or a hand-held search light. Where in the cockpit is the best location for a 12v recepticle?

Has anybody put a cockpit light on a P19? Maybe on the front bulwark beside the companionway? Or do you just hang a lantern off the boom?

What about reading charts at night -- has anybody found a tiny, low power red light that can be mounted on the exterior of the cabin for reading charts in the cockpit?

I have to cut the holes -- just one chance to make my decisions and then I'm stuck with them -- and I don't want them in the wrong places!!!

Best,
Judy B
