Regarding the posts about the Nissan 4 stroke, throttle settings, etc I just
took the time to figure up my mileage from my last 3 day trip, which
included a stretch 23 NM of motoring in total calm and very light headwinds
(yes, I know it's a SAIL boat, but there needs to be wind, and I had to get
through a drawbridge, and then it was a tiny twisty river, etc).

Using my typical setting of half throttle, over 23 NM I used 1/3 of the fuel
in the Nissan tank, which equates to 1 gallon, so I got 23 NM/gal.
Previously, over a measured course, I found that the 1/2 throttle setting
gets me 6 NM/H.
