Hi,

I enjoyed Hornblower as well, but let's not give anyone
the false impression that Forrester is in the same class as
O'Brian. The Patrick O'Brian novels are infinitely more
sophisticated, in terms of historical knowledge, sailing,
natural philosophy, and human relations. They are also
hilarious at times. But then, this is just my personal
opinion. I highly recommend the unabridged "books on tape"
versions at your local library.

My P15 just survived its second hurricane _in the water_
(at a dock) in the one month since I've owned it, and even
after the torrential downpours the cabin remains bone dry
(or would be if I did not keep putting wet sails down there).

Drew- congratulations on your new command.
I too enjoyed O'Brian but, as a confirmed reader of juvenile action
fiction I still take my cocked hat off to Hornblower. Currently reading
the Alexander Kent series- great action in the same era by another
author who really knows his sailing (and as a WWII vet of the
Atlantic... of the nastier side of the topic as well).

Great sailing (and don't forget to tap those biscuits)
