Rich,

I opted for jiffy reefing system on my P14 that uses two fixed pulleys and a
cleat on the bottom of the gooseneck slide. The main halyard is not lowered,
rather I have installed a separate "peak pennant" line that runs down the
side of the gunter yard to a cleat just above the fork. I release the line
and pull on the jiffy reefing line to haul the sail down, the peak pennant
line runs through the middle of the cleat and has a stop knot pre measured so
I don't have to retension the sail. I have not even attempted to release the
reef and raise the sail in the upright position, I have always just lowered
the sail using Harry's lazy jack system and then readjusted everything at the
dock. After three years of use, I wouldn't change a thing.

I would imagine you could adapt this setup for a double reef, assuming the
sail can slide down with minor effort, and the slides are positioned so that
at each reefing point there is still a slide at the base of the gunter yard.
The issue of letting out the reef and rasing the sail would be the tricky
exercise.
