Trying again:

Your definition of husband-in-law is correct except for the inclusion
of the prefix "ex" before the scatological term "wife". :-)

The amusing part of the story is a large wedding that took place about
a decade ago. The bride was my XOL (divorced since '74), my son gave
away the bride, my daughter was the maid of honor, my oldest friend
was the groom ... and I was the best man. The _most_ amusing part was
the minister's face when he first realized that all those people named
Combs (4 of 5 of the wedding party) were not siblings!
