Judy and all,
Thanks for the rigging info. I have been playing with the rigging and
the info was timely. A couple of questions, does anybody have the
closed body turnbuckles on a 19? Mine had them when I bought it (used)
and when I ordered a couple of replacements IM sent open bodies. I just
curious if the previous owner changed this or if it was standard.
The other thing is that I never feel like I have the forestay tight
enough as it still bends (bows?) a fair amount while at almost any point
of sail. I push on the mast while my wife fastens it as tight as we can
get it. Tightening the shrouds does not seem to be a quick solution as
they get way too tight. Is there an easily adjustable forestay "thingy"
(preferably with a lever/adjustment) which works well for a 19 which
would allow ease of setting up as well as tightening? I have seen some
in the West Marine cat. but do not know if they are what I am really
after.
