Scott,

I use Boat/US and find their price to be almost dead-on the price I used to
pay with Farmer's. All their other services, towing, trailer and motor
coverage and a very nice and informative magazine and the work they do for
boater's makes them a deal for me. $236 seems like a lot. I have a P-15 that
I bought new in 1992 and my rate is $121 per year. Certainly it's a smaller
boat, but it is newer and the coverage covers my Honda as well. If the rate
is anywhere close to what other insurer's in your area have quoted, I'd
certainly go with Boat/US. One other item just popped into what's left of my
mind. Boat/US and most other insurers will give you a discount if you've
completed the Coast Guard Auxiliary's boating safety course.
