I met the man that made the bow spirit out of the ax handle when I was first
looking at Potters. He was at the Long Beach boat show where there was a
Potter exhibit. According to him it was easy to do. He flew a large sail
from it and said it made a big difference in the performance of the boat. I
never did see the boat though.
