I have had a 2HP Honda for our P-15..(stolen), then a 2 HP Yamaha
2-stroke (which I liked a lot for its light weight, easy starting, and
quietness) (Stolen too!... use a strong chain and a good lock!) and now
have another 2HP Honda. None of these three had neutral or shift,
which I will admit is really better. However, I have found the Honda
to be easy starting, just about always one-pull no matter the
conditions,
and it also runs about two hours on one quart of fuel at 3/4 throttle.
The Honda seems to have heavy flywheels and very good low speed
torque, and does not foul spark plugs even when run for long periods
at low speed.... now if it had a "neutral" it would be just about ideal.

I guess the thing I like the most about any of the under 28Lb 2HP
motors is how much easier they are to lift when that is necessary..
The 2 Hp motors have all pushed the P-15 right along very well in
adverse conditions, including heavy winds and rollers in raccon straits
on the way back from Angel Island to Sausalito.
Best wishes..
