Hello Group. I am in the process of repairing an older ('68) 21' racing
sloop I was given. The winches on it are in good shape but there is no
handle. The handle fits into a slot in the side of the top of the winch it
is about 1/4 ' high and 11/2 inch wide. It is a rectangular hole that goes
straight through and the top of the winch looking down is open in the
center. I hope this explanation is accurate. My question is, how does the
handle lock in on this thing? It looks like a bar would work to turn it but
there is no way to secure it in the winch top. Anyone ever seen one like
this ? TIA
