As far as I know the concrete blocks were a Joe Edwards Idea. The Mark 2
Potters built by Herb Stewart didn't have them. Also the early Mark 2 Potters
were called 14 footers. The MK 2 was introduced in Aug 1975 with hull number
600. Joe bought the company in 1978 and began calling them a 15 footer. The
price of resin was going sky high and he had to find ways to cut costs. He
quit galvanizing the keels and painted them. And he found a cheaper way to.
build the centerboard housing. And somewhere around 1980 he started glassing
in concrete blocks. I'm glad to see that International Marine is cleaning up
some of Joe's messes. Jerry Barrilleaux Sunshine & Breezy
