You have some good points there. I didn't come up with all that; I was just
passing it on, without much thought, apparently. The dictionary seems to
agree with you, defining an even number as "being one of the sequence of
natural numbers beginning with two and counting by twos that are exactly
divisible by two." Zero is neither a natural number nor divisible by two.
Still, I think of zero as an even number because any number ending in zero
is divisible by two, and it is one less than one, which would make it the
next even number when counting down to zero. The date 2-2-2000 could be
considered even because 2000 is an even number. But the writer defined an
"even date" as one having all even digits.

I don't see any reason for the zero in 0888 either, but it's still all even
numbers without the leading zero..

How did I get into this? Any mathematicians out there who can tell us
officially if zero is considered an even number? Is the next even day
2-2-2000 or 2-2-2222? Does anyone care?

And what is 72 y Paz? (or 72 and peace?) I'm spending too much time on line.
