Cigar lighter adapters don't do well with salt water exposure. Connections
are weak. Would suggest finding a marine adapter that holds up well under
rough conditions.

I have a Standard 350 Submersible VHF handheld radio. I do mucho kayaking
along with wet water sailing in my Potter 15.
