I'm surprised by this thread. I have single piece oars that are probably 8
feet in length. They easily fit under the cockpit, along with a couple of
canoe paddles and 2-piece windsurfing masts. All on the starboard side.
There is plenty of room. Maybe my foam flotation pieces are not as big as
everyone else's. If so, that's OK, because paddles float too!

On the subject of paddles, I always carry a small one in the
cockpit, for those rare but embarrassing stay misses, to get off sandbars,
check depths, etc.

my oars fit underneath the cockpital alongside the hull
itself. they are 2
piece plastic oars
