One thing to be careful about when installing and using an extension is that
it doesn't hang up on anything. The store bought extension on my Capri was
so flexible that if I wasn't careful it would jab into the seat back at the
most inopportune times. In one instance the combination of a stiff breeze,
a 20 degree wind shift and a tiller that stopped in mid-throw caused an
unplanned 360!
A tiller extension,as with any "improvement" made to a boat, comes with
drawbacks and a learning curve.
