It's very hard for a 200 pounder to change the headsail on a P.15. I use
my jib downhaul to strike the jib and hold it on the deck. I very rarely use
the genny on my P.15. Years ago I was sailing on S.F. Bay with the genny when
I became overpowered. I didn't have a downhaul at the time, so I headed over
to the city to look for a dock to change sails. I pulled up to the dock of
the St. francis Yacht Club (A Bad Choice) They are the only Yacht Club that
doesn't have reciprocal privileges to other Yacht Clubs. And God Forbid a
Trailer Sailor pull up to their dock. I just tied her off when this Bozo
dressed in full Yachting attire came running down the dock. You can't dock
here, this is the St. Francis Yacht Club! I told him I was making a emergency
headsail change and I would be on my way. He kept right on yelling at me,
until I told him I'd knock him in the Bay if he didn'shut up. ( I hate
Yachting Yuppies)
