I remain skeptical that the genoa is slower in winds under 5 knots, but it
could be. For conditions under 5 knots, possibilities include:

1. ...the genoa really is slower getting upwind.
2. ...overall weight becomes an overriding factor.
3. ...weight distribution becomes an overriding factor.
4. ...proper sail trim becomes an overriding factor.
5. ...dragging a motor through the water becomes an overiding factor.

Who knows, and how important is it anyway? The fact remains, the genoa is
more fun!

I'd be interested in knowing if genoa users differ from the average
population in the following areas:

0. Like the genoa? (Yes)
1. Lbs? (160)
2. Bow rail? (No)
3. Whisker pole downwind? (Yes)

Mike
