I installed a small hatch on my P-15 six years ago. I only use it for
ventilation when moored. The forward deck is far too small for a hatch large
enough to climb out of, and still maintain structural integrity of the deck.
The best solution is a roller furling. Forget this business of going forward
to change sails. It is a pain in the posterior, and not all that safe. I can
attest that it was the best single investment on my Potter.
