I have been thinking about the sleeping etc. problem in the p-19 and have
concluded that it could be reconformed to sleep two very nicely if you
changed the entire interior layout. Imagine that the benches for the
quarter births extended all the way to the mast post. Slightly higher
than they are now, with backboards which remove to fill in the center space
over the center board trunk and all the way back to the companion way
entrance. Stowage underneath bunks for oars, lifejackets rafts etc. The
bed would be pretty big and have a fair amount of headroom. Have two
cabinets begin at the mast post with surface for stove, sink etc.,
Forward of the post place the pora-potty, and a coulple of lockers for
sails, dive gear etc. Gents might be able to pee looking out the hatch
(big sales point for a Rhodes 22?). Move battery, switch assembly to
area below cockpit, behind the boarding ladder. Bye bye V-birth.
