Ted,
>From my VAST experience (Dripping with sarcasm--I've barely done it once), a
roller is a great idea! I was thinking I might have to wet the carpet on the
crutch in order to do it myself--but the roller would be a great benefit. It
would be important to know when the shrouds are caught or binding vs when the
weight has increased on the crutch causing it to "bind" a bit.
BTW, our Fleet Captain, Jerry Barrilleaux has made the modifications to his
mast crutch. Dr. Judy, (while also having a great mind), was capturing the
modification on camera.

Rye, Judy and Potterers,
I sent Rye a message yesterday telling him I had modified my mast crutch
with a roller with the help of a friend to hopefully make it easier to move
the mast to the travel position. I told him I would let him know how it
worked when I get to try it, maybe next week. He answered today with news
that Dr. Judy posted a picture of a similar modification yesterday. Mine is
slightly different as it was just a matter of bending. I will try it this
weekend weather permitting and let you know how it works and maybe figure
out how to scan a simple picture to include or something.
Does that mean great minds think alike or Dr. Judy has a great mind and I
just stumbled upon a good idea?
