There is a COOL mast raising crutch called Mast Up it is made in Oregon
and is very high quality. It is made from heavy duty square tubing that is
plastic coated. This unit came with my boat but I lost it (don't ask) I
didn't know where to buy one so I designed my own version. I like theirs
better, the square tubing makes it easier to get the pin in. If you send them
$10.00 they have a refundable video. The unit is about $150.00 and I think
it's well worth it.
