While reading the March 2000 Boat/US in the 'alternate home library', I
found under 'Reports' (page 6) that boats can still be used as "second
homes" and you can deduct interest paid on a secured boat loan.
"To be a qualified residence, the IRS stipulates that the boat have
sleeping, cooking, and toilet facilities."
I think Poops might qualify. Maybe IM could set up a special mortgage
division for new owners. Or maybe some Poops might set up their own
mortgage company. Geoff, where are you?
Wait, think big. Poops form a corporation for making mortgage loans and
then go public with an IPO, and then...
