Fellow Potterers:

I've recently found what I've been looking for regarding paper towel storage.
I've always carried them on the boat, and in the car, but they usually get
ragged and eventually get thrown away rather than used. The best solution to
date has been plastic bags but they always seem to get holes in them.

A better solution! Rubbermaid now has a handy-dandy 'bagel keeper' that
fits a roll <albeit tightly for a new roll> of paper towels. I also use a
Rubbermaid container for a roll of toilet paper. If you're going to have
either on board, you want them to be dry...
