What I find disturbing in this exchange is that a person approaches the
Potter community with a question about changing their boat's name, for
whatever reason, get's slammed by a couple folks she's never met on a
non-sailing topic and has now disappeared. Doesn't leave a very good
impression of Potter owners, does it? I can tell you I'm ashamed.

In our society people are free to think what they like. It is only when
thoughts are manifested as a behavior that anyone else has a right to
intervene. On the internet, I think there are times where a deliberatly
provocative remark might deserve an off-list response, but I don't even
think that was the case here. It's a crowded world full of all different
kinds of people - give each other some room.
