Some suggestions:

1. If you don't already have cleats on the top of the port
and starboard ends of the transom, you might want to put
some there.

2. The combination of a whisker pole and a little creative
carpentry on your paddle/oar (a couple of eye screws) would
provide a bipod to support the mast and boom at the stern.

3. Secure the lower ends if the whisker pole and paddle/oar
on the cleats or cockpit rails, and tie/clip the upper ends
to support the mast.
