Camping supply stores such as REI sell quart size Nalgene bottles made
specifically for holding and dispensing gasoline. They are red and have a
pour spout inside the cap. I use one to fill my outboard and it works very
well, eliminates spills unless you're careless and overfill the internal
tank.

Hey you guys! Don't you know that it is against Federal Law to use
unapproved containers for Gasoline. There are many people rotting in
federal prisons for this seemingly minor infraction. The same Federal
Police that are watching for a two teaspoon overfill of your outboard are
ever vigilant for people using unapproved containers. Otherwise it sounds
like a great idea and I will be saving my oil bottles next time I change
oil.
