Bracing the Cocktail Table

Susan, the cockpit table trick works like this..
a flat board about two or three inches or so wide, not very thick..
 about 18 inches long.. ( this used to come with the hatch) In the top
of the board, just a little below the edge, a hole..
with this, about an inch long bolt, and a butterfly nut..
Put hatch in place... Lower it toward you... attach board
to padlock hasp with butterfly nut.. Lower hatch to horizontal,
bracing it upright by putting the board (now the "table leg ")
forward under the hatch until it hits the intersection of the
cockpit floor, and the vertical forward edge of the cockpit.
Actually works quite well on a calm day..
