Damn, but I love this group! I love it when I win a pronunciation
argument!
I think I am wrong about the usage of jibing or jibbing, too. I couldn't
remember for sure if there was such a word, but my dad was insisting
gybe was pronounced as jib and gybing was pronounced as jibing.
I'm gonna print all these out for proof to him! Thanks, gang!
